Have a nice week.

These picture has been taken Friday afternoon very bad weather took a bike trip to Sluis, I surprised when I this for my camera got, a nice image in foreground it Canal with the towers of the city hall in background.

History fromSluis;
Originally called the gatehouse and was destined for meetings and parties, by analogy with the "Poortersloge" in Bruges. In 1393 a fire raged in both buildings, and the ships house was restored, but the gatehouse until 1423. The ship hall was then also transferred to the gatehouse.
The "Schepenhuis" is still in use as a dare and was demolished in 1798. The gatehouse was restored from 1894-1904, but was destroyed during the Allied bombing of 11 October 1944. It was the city archives and a large number of art treasures lost. The belfry was rebuilt from 1956-1960 as some of the historic buildings in the center of Sluis. The bell man Jantje of Sluis was back on the tower.
The Belfry has a large number of archaeological and art objects, including paintings from the 15th to the 18th century, Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck, Van Eertvelt and Charles André van Loo. There are also include engravings and prints, halberds, a cup of Carrier Bags Guild and a medieval rack.
