Photographer's Note
De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter of Winair at the Franklin D. Roosevelt airport of tiny Caribbean island of Sint Eustatius.
DHC-6 first flew in 1965. It has room for 19 passengers and has excellent STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) performance. Twin Otter is legendary on rural areas with short runways. Or no runway at all as DHC-6 can also be equipped with skis for the far north or Antarctica. Or with floats for island hopping. More than 800 were built before production ended in 1988.
But it is hard to substitute a legend. In 2006 Viking Air from Victoria, British Columbia, purchased the type certificates from Bombardier Aerospace. Twin Otter is back in production. First, technically improved, but original looking Series 400 version was delivered by Viking Air in 2010.
Different angle on the workshop.

Bonjour Kari,
une photo qui sent bon les tropiques, les personnes ont l'air d'être bien nourries sur ce coin de terre. Sous de jolies couleurs, une scène des transports plus modestes mais au dessus d'endroits idylliques.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Kari
You really are into your planes and trains. What an old classic, beautifully composed, excellent colours and good sharpness. The inclusion of the people add a sense of scale and interest.
Thanks for sharing

A simple but attractive and inviting picture!
It's nice to fly in those small planes!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, contrasts, chosen pov, horizontal format, black & white borders and composition are all excellent here too!

Hi Kari,
I've just discovered your galleries, and something tells me you also like "flying objects",dont you?
I specially like this picture of the DHC-Otter wich is always on duty in difficult access areas!I've got hard memories with such a plane during NATO maneuvers...
I also like your "roundabout "gallery wich is very original!
Best regards,
Fred
