Photographer's Note

Klein Curaçao (English: Little Curaçao) is an 1.7 km2 uninhabited island south-east of Curaçao in the Caribbean Sea, and is part of the country Curaçao. In 1888, a short-lived German naval base was established on the island as part of Imperial expansion into the German Caribbean, although inclement weather eventually ruined the scheme. The only things on the island are an old lighthouse, beach house, and several huts. Klein Curaçao is well known as a beautiful diving-spot because of its coral and underwater caves.
Klein Curaçao has no permanent inhabitants, only a few palm-frond covered sheds for day trippers from Curaçao, and apart from some coconut palms has little vegetation. But there are some fisherman's huts where the fishermen normally stay for some days. They will get water from the Coast Guard of the Netherlands Antilles. The windward side is a graveyard for boats that did not stay out far enough or lost power. A small tanker, the Maria Bianca Guidesman, is gradually being diminished to rust and dust by the constant pounding of the waves. The remains of another four or five boats are washed far onshore. This is also the site of the island that is a resting place for tons of driftwood, hundreds of flip-flops, and thousands of plastic bottles.

Klein Curaçao (olandese per piccola Curaçao) è una isola disabitata situata a sud-est di Curaçao. Le uniche cose sull'isola sono un vecchio faro, una casa sulla spiaggia, e diverse capanne. L'isola è nota per le sue caverne subacquee e per i coralli. Klein Curaçao non è abitata permanentemente e la vegetazione include poche palme da cocco.

sembra un disegno dei bambini: "casa" rossa, erba verde e cielo blu. anche la sua posizione al centro mi dà questa sensazione, ma è una composizione che trovo azzeccata, sono le nuvole qui che riempiono i vuoti e il tutto ha un aspetto più surreale che paesaggistico. gli spazi delle finestre come tanti occhi neri spalancati, e una struttura indecisa se essere morbida o spigolosa. :-) mi piace very tanto, bravo Luciano. colori magnifici.

Great record shot. I do think you have overexposed it a bit even thought the are no burnt out areas. Maybe of bit of contrast would help. That said this place has not shortage of sun shine.

I'm always surprised about that flat rocky landscape on Curacao with only very small vegetation and this as far as we can see.
The red pink of this abandoned lighthouse contrasts strong with the green grass and the beautiful blue sky.

che paesaggio lunare! Solo cielo e terra senza un filo di vegetazione a parte la poca erbetta qua e là. Solo luce e colori, il rosso stinto dell'edificio alquanto malmesso, l'azzurro intenso del cielo. E' davvero buffo l'effetto della nuvola proprio sopra la luce del faro che lo fa sembrare più una ciminiera che un faro. Bella e particolare, colori bellissimi.

Considering the state of this very cool lighthouse, no surprise there is some shipwrecks around... :-p))

I really like this shot from the same building you have posted recently, again with uncommon colours. Nice light and gorgeous sky. You've opted for a centered composition with this one, which works properly, but I'm sure you have tried alternative scenarios with this highly graphic structure.

Superb picture of this abandoned lighthouse in the middle of this landscape so flat and without any other element, bushes, rocks etc.
Sad end for a building that seems to defy time with its high tower, the combination of the plain green, the pink building and the magnificent blue sky come together to combine a very attractive image.
Good sharpness and optimal lighting is very noticeable in the picture.
A very interesting story in your note that values more the image we behold.

L'epitome dei fari! Rosso/bianco/blu, di meglio come colori non potevi trovare! E poi questa forma inconsueta delle case sotto... molto particolare, e oltretutto dà ragione a quelli che dicono che i fari sono un simbolo fallico!
E' una foto da manuale questa: il soggetto e la pulizia dell'immagine la rendono di grande impatto visivo grazie anche a questo contrasto cromatico molto forte e molto efficace. Mi piacciono molto le textures dei muri scoloriti. Gran bella atmosfera di posto abbandonato.
Immagino come devono essere le rive dove il mare spinge i rifiuti. Sai quante ce n'è anche qui in Sardegna dove ci sono più bpttiglie di plastica che sassi...

caspita che bel soggetto hai beccato, farebbe la felicità di tutti i fotografi! Hai catturato una scena che sembra un dipinto metafisico, con eccellente qualità fotografica, specialmente nella gestione della forte luce. Più che giusta la scelta del tempo di esposizione. Bravo anche ad aspettare che non ci fosse nessuno tra le balle, dando così maggior enfasi al senso di abbandono e solitudine. Una foto rara, bravissimo!

J'aime beaucoup ta composition, très dépouillée et simple.
Ce phare a une architecture originale et tu l'as pris d'un point de vue décentré et non de face, ce qui le met mieux en valeur.
On se demande où se trouve la mer, peut-être derrière toi. Le ciel est extraordinaire, composé de dégradés de bleus absolument magnifiques.

Good contrast between the lighthouse and the rich blue sky and also lots to keep the `abandoned' happy. Great lighting and fine design of this wonderful piece of history in every bit and sadly now has been totally neglected and forgotten. A well composed image with great perspective, and good balance. La distance entre la pelouse et le phare donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise d evue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du phare abandonné. La lumière de la fin de l'après-midi rehausse la beauté des couleurs. Bonne soirée.

È sorprendente di vedere questo faro senza sentire la mare intorno.
Una composizione che avrebbero preferita un po' meno centrata ma è una bella foto comunque con bei colori. Il reso cromatico è molto ben equilibrato e mi piace molto scoprire i fari nel mondo. Ho aggiunto la tua ai temi adeguati.
L'atmosfera è forte anche, l'isolamento è ben reso.
