Where have the old film cameras gone?
I found them in an old shop in Amsterdam.
Nobody has marked this note useful

Hi Yitzhak,
Good choice of B&W for this shot.
The compo with the diagonal lines is good.
Funny to see so many camera on shelves, just side by side as if they were waiting for someone to but them and to begin their new life

Interesting picture. You took this behind the glass? Interesting how you've captured how they group the cameras. Good decision to have it in BW to eliminate color distractions.

..and there's a few in my cupboard at home. That's a lot of cameras. I wonder how many of us still use film? I did this summer, mainly because I haven't got a DSLR, and I've noticed a few of us still posting quite recent film shots. My unscientific estimate of TE posters is around 10%, what do you think?

Who knows? Maybe digital cameras will be obselete in 10 years time? Good choice for b&w. Well framed & cropped with an excellent tonal range.

A very interesting picture Yitzhak, the 23 cameras on the photograph its all of recently period, indeed the B/W picture gives nice depth and good perspective. Maybe a bit great black frame, but the photo is very nice.

here are all the film cameras,
However in Japan, the people still love their film cameras and they are expensive, I mean Contax, Nikon to name a few, they were expensive 8,000 dollars some of them?
nice angle
well done

Nice picture and good angle, I think that there is a lack of sharpness in the picture.
P.s.
You missed one, the Canon camera ( the silver one) in the front is the 300D (Digital rebel)... :) :)

Même si ce sont de vieux appareils moi j'en veut bien un nostalgie de l'argentique.

Well, if that's not a great subject for TE I don't think I ever saw one, Itzik. Good perspective and cropping, suggesting an almost infinite shelf with these fine pieces of technology. The b&w looks nice on it and enhances the underlying "nostalgic" or "tribute" kind of feel. Isn't the silver Canon in front the 300D though? :-P

Come on Yitzhak, this is your home collection.
Nice idea to make such a composition out of it. I like this B&W version. Well seen.

haha yitzhak
this is an interesting shot.
when i read the name of your title i thought i'd see some old agfas or leicas or rolliflexes,
but these cameras are quite new and still give better quality than most digital cameras
my analogs are still with me :)
take care
edit: i just read your reply to richard
are you a professional??
if you are then what kind of stuff do you do?

Oups ! Une vitrine tentatrice à souhait, Yitzhak, toutes les grandes marques sont présentes. C'est un coup à faire un hold-up.
Une vitrine qui fait rêver tout photographe !
Photo très originale.
Très bien fait, Yitzhak.

Good one indeed Itzik. This is a funny shot with a very original subject. If the people working in this shop saw you take this picture, they must have wondered what you where doing.

Interesting and historical shot Yitzhak. But as I can see, these cameras are not so old to be antiques! :)
The B&W choise works fine here! Nice shot!

Le second à partir de la gauche ressemble au Canon 300 D comme le mien.
Une composition très originale avec un grand choix de grandes marques.
Ce magasin c'est le paradis des photographes.
The second from the left looks like the Canon 300 D like mine.
A very original composition with a great choice of models. This store is the paradise of the photographers.

Funny idea! Good use of BW giving a feeling of past to these cameras. Watchout that this image could be interpreted as an atack to film photographers! :-)
A good frame for this one would be to use in the top and bottom border a negative film effect, with the small holes.
Good BW, DOF and use of perspective.

Great shot Yitzhak
You always managed to find the lines and the symmetry.
B&W is a very good choice here and make your title come out much stronger
I wonder where in Amsterdam you took this shot
Do you remember the street name?
