Photographer’s Note

in 1042 Groot-Ammers is mentioned for the first time in history. The lords of Liesvelt built their castle around that time as one of the largest and strongest castles of the Netherlands. The surroundings of the castle, including Groot-Ammers, stood under the influence of these lords.
Willem Frederik of Nassau bought the barony of Liesvelt in 1636.
In modern times the barony of Liesvelt became the municipality of Groot-Ammers. In 1986 Groot-Ammers and bordering municipalities aggregated to form the municipality of Liesveld.

yes my friends. Last Sunday the weather was good and there was no wind at all. So I had to made some shots with my new camera. I hope you like it.

Hello Jaap!
A very beautiful picture indeed!
The pov was very well chosen and the composition was skillfully done with very attractive visual results!
Sharpness, exposure, dof and colors are excellent!
I really like hte reflections, this boat in the fg and the soft sunlight that goes thru the whole image!

The scene reminds me very much of an Old Master painting. A wonderful composition of this tranquil scene captured in an atmospheric light. Exposure ie perfectly managed revealing detail in even the heavily shaded areas. Superb photography.

The lack of wind was perfect for making such a mirror from the undisturbed surface of the water. It is darker than your usual images conveying a certain mood to the scene.

Dag, Jaap. Je nieuwe fototoestel schijn je al onder de knie te hebben. De sfeer in deze foto is wondermooi. Ook de compositie is uitstekend. De rieten en de boot op de voorgrond geven een zeer goede diepte aan het beeld. De huisjes aan de overkant brengen een goed evenwicht in het beeld en de reflecties zijn heel mooi.

Hoi Jaap,

Wat is dit een prachtig foto, zeer hoog kwaliteit.
Ik zie dat u in de kosten gekomen bent, wat een canjer van toestel zeg, niet simpel.
Maar wat baat kaars en bril als de ... niet zien en wil, u maakt met een goedkoop toestel ook goede foto's, dus het is kennis, het toestel bijzaak.
