2008 Reflections

Another year has (almost) come to an end and why not end the year with a reflection photo, just like last year. It was taken in May this year in the city of Den Haag (The Hague).
I found this reflection in the glass facade of de Openbare Bibliotheek Den Haag (Public Library The Hague). It's located in the same building as the city hall of The Hague, a work of architect Richard Meier.

I would like to thank you all for a wonderful photo-year 2008 and wish you "een fijne jaarwisseling" as well as the best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!

I have come to associate reflection images with you and your Dad. Maybe we should call them Alvaraalotueades like papagolfades for churches. This is another beautiful example giving us chance to sort out the reflections from the reality.

Olá Lars, a good idea to finish the year. Excellent framing through the two lateral pillars and nice effect of distortion from the reflections, everything and everyone got thiner and taller, including your elegant self-portrait ;-) The cars have a funny fat shape though.

A lovely reflection type`o photo. The light breaking on the glass creates that fine wobbly effect. Great sharpness and clarity. The pillar offer a natural frame. TFS.

An interesting composition, which on one occasion we had made. The balance in the frame is significant and the details are found in the crystals are well defined within the distortion.

Ik was de laatste week in het Hoge Noorden, gewoon aan het werken (geen computers in de buurt, alleen de stilte van het Friese platteland)... dus, heel laat, maar alsnog een Heel Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!!! Schitterende reflecties, ik ken dit plek vrij goed, je hebt werkelijk het maximaal hieruit gehaald. Haarscherp en perfect in beeld gebracht, chapeaux! Another excellent addition to your impressive collection of reflections. The curve of the glass gives the appearance of an exaggerated barrel distortion, but I like very much the rendered effect.

You and your father have both produced some of the most beautiful reflections in plate glass, a technique that seems to add an additional dimension to reality. From conception to implementation this is an excellent shot, with the usual good note that you alway give us.

Hello Lars,

A fine mirror image, where the slight distortion adds the creative touch!
The abstract feeling in fact is better than a perfect mirror adding an artistic feeling to the capture as it will vary for every time taken...
Good colour palette and details are well reproduced!
