Coming back from Riga this afternoon I had to change planes in Amsterdam. I got to the KLM lounge just before the England/Paraguay match started, and the prime spots around the telly were (mostly) taken up by English fans, who had more or less permanent grins on their faces after a goal 3 mins into the match.

Clarity, sharpness and brigtness are very good. The composition is reflecting the feelings well. Canguratulations. Behice.

It seems the game was boring when i look at the man at the right ;-)
Engeland won by a lucky goal it seems, hope they are doing better in the rest of the tournament.
Picture is well taken in BW, gives better expression on the peoples faces.

I like the way you caught these people, all very concentrated on the game - except for the dude up front. (but hey, after 3 mins. the game wasn't really exciting anymore was it?)
The BW was probably a good choise, adds much up the the mood of this scene.

I guess this is the sort of scene that we'll be seeing in a lot of places during the coming month. The sleeping guy in the foreground really make me laugh and also the other one who has taken off his shoes. I guess he forgot he was in an airport and not in his living room. I don't think any of these guys even noticed that you were taking this shot. The B&W conversion is good here...
Have a nice Sunday.

Hahaaaa the man in the middle seems to be tired after a difficult match :)))
Perfect shot with good atmosphere, i like it Richard :)

A slightly underwhelming performance today by the self-proclaimed tournament favorite, but at least they brought home 3 points ;) Good timely catch for the worldcup, Richard, nice array of expressions and postures shown in the guys watching the game in the airport lounge. It looks nice in b&w although I don't see a particular reason why it wouldn't do the same job in color.

I bothers me so much that I actually know the score and highlights of the match you mention, seeing as my new favorite sport is avoiding football, it might be harder than winning the world cup! Actually I think I'll give up, seeing as TE is flooded with footie images, however this one shows no football action and it seems not one single football jersey, I like it ;o)

Watched the game...you guys were lucky:) Paraguay played quite well.
Love the capture here Richard, tells me all about the drama and passion for the game.

Hi Richard. Has the guy on the foreground fainted under emotion, or is he simply sleeping under the effect of the poor performance of the english team? This is the perfect period of the year to travale by plane: finally some emotions in the airports while in transit.

Oh that's very god, Richard. Topical sure, but it's a fine study in attitudes, in that half tired way these guys are "engrossed" in the proceedings, and the all important beers too, of course.
Excellent, well observed!

Nice shot BW, Richard, I like this atmosphère as a movie....
during the football, daily life seems stopping.
(Is Agent Marlowe here, like in the adventures of Ginette de Pontoise ?)

Priceless photo as the proper balance for all that hoopla going on about the w/cup.
Oh, sweet innocence. Proof, that the REAL man can sleep anywhere, anytime, for any reason, or no reason at all.
There, I said it.
