Photographer’s Note

Kasteel Duivenvoorde (Castle Duivenvoorde) is in the town of Voorschoten, Zuid-Holland in the Netherlands. It was first mentioned in 1226, making it one of the older castles in Zuid-Holland

The castle is remarkable in that it was never sold; it was inherited by several different noble houses, sometimes through the matrilineal line, something that can be said of very few Dutch castles. For the first five centuries of its history, the castle was owned by one and the same family, namely the Van Duivenvoordes, who gave their name - at that time, van Duvenvoirde - to the castle. Though the castle was named thus, the van Duvenvoirdes properly formed part of the House of Wassenaer, an ancient noble family that has played an important role in Dutch history. Toward the end of the 17th century an owner of Kasteel Duivenvoorde, Johan, retook the name of van Wassenaar, upon which the House of Duivenvoorde became merely another name in the castle’s history.

Sometimes you have a day when you made a lot of good photo's, well that day at tghe castle was such a day. I made a lot of good photo's. This is another of them. I hope you like it to. What do I like on my new camera, wel look for yourself

the contrails i find a nuisance and try to get them off the shot..but when they dominate..too bad

Een werkelijk fraai plaatje, hier is weer de schilder aan het werk geweest.
Alle ingredïenten zijn aanwezig wat een goede foto vereist.
Licht en schitterende kleuren, weerspiegeling in de rivier, oude shuren en een prachtige hemel.

Klopt de note wel met de foto? Waar ik ook kijk, ik zie geen kasteel.
Maar oke, de foto zelf is een typisch Carper foto. Rijke diepe kleuren met zwaar aangezette tinten. De compositie is zeer kleurrijk met een mooi diep perspectief in een hele mooie belichting.

So much historical subjects and the colors of the countryside is just so obscenely pulling. I would have a field year just walking through your country, shooting and understanding the culture and history amidst the colors and characters.
