I was in for a happy shot after the last week and my last two pictures.
This girl, of whom I already uploaded a picture here,
was playing in the fountains that intermittently start and stop again.
She was soo happy playing there, that she made me happy as well.
I think this picture renders her happiness quite good, at least to me.
I hope you like it.
I tried to lighten the shadows a bit, espescially her eyes, burned the backgroung a bit, saturation, crop and added a small frame.

Your dodging around the eyes paid off; very difficult sometimes to lighten shadow areas without it looking too obvious. Had you not mentioned it I wouldn't have noticed so well done there.
Great moment you've caught. Nice and tight with no distractions. I really like the frozen water droplets.

lovely picture! good focus and dof. only the hand on the left is a bit distracting. apart from that it is very very good. maybe a faster shutter speed could have worked better to avoid the blur in water drops but i'm not sure that would look better than this. great work as it is!

She really IS enjoying herself isn't she? I love the pose with her hands raised and half clenched. Dof is very good again and the colour is great. I like the blur in the waterdrops. The only pity is the shadow on her face but the shot is a great capture of her joy, Rinie.

I like this version very much as reflecting the great natural, happy posing. Good details of light, colours and water droplets. Well done Rinie

great work here, I like the close up, very good work and the water movement is very good work
gufo (106) 2004-08-22 11:18
Even more spectacular than your other shot as the colour and pattern of the girl's dress really makes a great contrast to the water and the background.

yes! much joy in this photograph. and it is communicative, I like much the two closed hands of the little girl, something of tenderizing technically all is ok

It is so wonderful of you to post these photos that make me smile! This is one of those scene that make me forget long and stressful days, and just stare at the screen with a stupid grin... The happy colors of the dress and perfect textures make this one even more enjoyable. Thanks!

Nice moment you capture here. What a fantastic kid expression. Very good.

I have to admit, I like this shot much more then the other. Looking back, I think the other was cropped too much.
Being able to see the hands, etc- adds to the feeling of the photo.
Excellent exposure which captures the water (and very lucky not to have any water droplets in front of her face- causing distractions...), well cropped- and beautiful color saturation.

Nice catch of a happy moment. I liie the waterdrops and their different sizes, random position and the sun shining in them. The girl's expression say it all - a great fun. wonderful shot, Rinie.

Awesome action shot. I think you've captured the essence of joy.

This is wonderful Rinie! The girl's expression is priceless and your composition captures the excitement of the moment, hands busy as the jewel like water droplets sail around her. Colors and details are fine and depth of field is nicely managed. Excellent work.

Wow, once again, the joy is just screaming out of this image. I can hear giggling and laughter and just so much excited joy. It's so crisply captured with an excellent DOF. And the posture she's in is one of sheer fascination as you say the water starts and stops. She seems so excited about it starting and yet wondering but not really caring about the why too much. Much more interested in playing with the water. And again the detail is incredible. I look at the hair again for that and see such fine detail in each strand and the nice reflection. Very good post processing as well. Once again an excellent capture, Rinie!

Hi Rinie! If I may say so, this is even better a capture than the other post of this girl. Very well catured expression!

Fantastic Rinie ! The colours, expression and composition are simply fantastic !

Oh! How I miss this picture before! Wonderful moment with nice DOV. Great color. You seem freze the water drop at 1/400sec
kaychambers (1198) 2004-08-24 3:01
You do well with these Rinie. I like the tight crop, and the girls flapping arms create a sense of action. The shadowing on the lower side of the subject's face a minor irritation to me, but easily correctable in PS.
Good luck to you meantime,
Points later, blown allocation today!
PS I dont make a point of adjusting someone elses images for the sake of getting recognition here....but, subsequent to your workshop request, I am happy to accept your invitation to see what can be done, only it may have to wait until the weekend!
Cheers and good luck meantime!

naxius (16685) 2004-08-29 12:42
Great daily-life picture! The choice of the 70-300mm works perfectly so you can have a perfect DOF for this kind of picture.
The colors and the face of the little girl are great.
orme (7215) 2004-09-02 0:35
An incredible shot, Rinie.
You captured the child's joy and the water droplets perfectly. Very well done.

What a wonderful shot. This shot captures the youthful happiness and innocence shared by all young children. Especially the joy that can be had from something so basic and simple as a fountain of water, something we all unfortunately lose as we grow older. Well done!
