Today there was this yellow car in front on my house, so I thaught it was nice to get a picture with motion blur AND a yellow car. Then I suddenly saw the reflection in the window. So I started to hang out of the window, it was not easy to take, quite an exercise for keeping my hand steady while hanging out a window, but I do like the reflection, two blurred buses, two yellow cars, and two boats in one shot.
The blur however, is not so strong, so if anyone can't agree with this one for the hunt, I won't add it.
PS, Saturation and a frame added.
Oh, and in spite of what everybody seems to think, it isn't THAT dangerous. Keep your head cool, hands (both, for steadiness)on the camera, one leg out, and the heaviest part of your body inside, no problem whatsoever.

Not a bad idea to take a picture from the reflection in a window.

Great idea to take a picture from the reflection in the window, "Rotterdam" if my memory is good?
veimann (1269) 2004-04-19 16:35
Oh! I at all at once have understood in what focus of this photo :) it is wonderfully seen and well done. Bravo!

Rinie, you should really be careful with your stunt-like activities when taking pictures for TE ;-) Of course, the result you got is great - a fine reflection shot with grand detail both in the "original" and the reflected half of the scene. Very good job on this one.

Very well done, great idea, beautifully composed, bravo.

Excellent composition. You gut a motion blur and a yellow car in one frame, and you can always claim that the bus driver is bald..and his son and his father are sitting bnext to him ;-)
I really love your shor, Riniw, very very well done.

2 in one! Very well done, Rinie! The way of framing is perfect! Bravo!
eleparc (24063) 2004-04-19 17:40
maybe the blur is notquite so strong, but it could still qualify for the yellow car i guess;-))

Nicely done, Rinie. I like the reflection. You're lucky you didn't fall out your window! :) Just today I was someplace and thinking of risking standing in the left turn lane of a high volume 4 lane highway for a shot but I wasn't feeling so daring as you, perhaps. But, anyway, back to your picture. There's a neat arc in this, too that seems to stretch nicely across with curve of the road and the mirror effect of your window. And you also got two of those towers that I liked from one of your previous posts of the harbor. Bravely done, good job.

Wow! So acrobatic of you, Rinie! :-)) Very bright idea with fantastic view result: it adds not only interesting reflection, but also brings a lot of depth to the image. Great capture!

Wow, Rinie good that you're back at your workstation to tell the tale after your acrobatics! This is a a very lively and attractive picture. Highpoints are of course the reflection and the nice curve that Paul points out and the warm evening light. And surely another excellent entry for the hunt. Very nice, Rinie!

Simpel dus lol.
manny (21833) 2004-04-20 9:47
Excellent technique. I like it a lot. Your quick-thinking allows you to have this wonderful composition. I wish I have that too.
piozac (2065) 2004-04-20 11:41
To have one of those Mini's is my dream :) Colour for me doesn't matter, but yellow would be OK.
BTW it's very good and interesting shot!
Porteplume (3414) 2004-04-20 11:52
A great idea indeed. Combinating a view on the Maas & Euromast, the typical Dutch bikes, the street of Rotterdam, aaaaaand the Yellow Car! And all this twice?
Very well observed and executed Rinie!
omritoppol (826) 2004-04-21 5:21
You certainly nailed it. A very interesting shot, lots of details and one can look at it a long time. Well done Rinie
BTW - I think it bits your first yellow car shot
taivo (1843) 2004-04-22 6:31
This is a difficult shot but you did a great job. Finding in the correct exposure is essential to get these good reflections. One thing I noticed is that I can see the cables of the Erasmus bridge (?) in the reflections, but hardly in the "reality".
Spoony (3539) 2004-04-22 12:24
Fantastic idea and very nice final result.
Itīs a great creative photo, with good colors and light.
Very, very well done!
Ebbe (9617) 2004-04-23 13:17
A great use of the window Rinie. And just the right amount of motion blur on the bus.
Your apartment seems to have a nice location too, is it Willemsbrug or Erasmusbrug in the back? I can see some stay cables in the reflection but you left out the identifying parts.
cloverstar (0) 2004-04-23 13:22
This is an amazingly creative shot. Your ingenuity, and the danger of leaning out of the window, has resulted in this splendid shot. Very well seen, and taken.
smael (2878) 2004-04-25 9:27
Very good idea and so well put into life!
The reflexion is the masterpiece here and the car and the bus adds interest on top of that. What you could do is to get rid of that bright spot in the right bottom corner. It doesn't add nothing. Either clone or crop it away if it were up to me...
Midnight_sun (1941) 2004-04-26 9:06
a very good entry for the SH! i like the slightly non central compostion of the reflection. Very well seen.... great.
