Blue night in Rotterdam Photo

Photographer’s Note

I could see that Rinie, one of the organizers of the TE Gathering this weekend in Rotterdam was hoping for some moon night shots Saturday evening.

As my weatherforecast mention some clouds coming in - I thought it a good idea to present this one, from yesterday evening and btw shot right out of my hotel window.

Very fine night shot, Jack. The exposure is excellent and there are nice mid blue tones to the sky. The long boat adds great foreground interest and movement.

Hi Jack,
It seems there is a full moon in Rotterdam as well as here ;-) The shot is outstanding. Taking into account it's a night shot, its clarity is excellent and colours very well saturated. The title tells it all -- very fine blue night. Well done.

Excellent night view Jack - exposure is perfect to achieve this sharpness and clarity, and the shot's well timed to have this beautiful blue mood to it. The moon is a lovely addition. Congratulations on this one.

Hey did you all get the best rooms in the place, this is practically the same PoV as Didier's. Interesting to see two such different shots from the same place. I like the boat in the foreground.

Indeed that hotel values the money to enjoy this view over the river to the buildings and all the light with the boat in front, catched on the right moment.
Our meeting was revealing lots of fine aspects of a man that was virtual hidden, you are a good listener, thanks.

Hi Jack! I can see that the view from your hotel room was almost as goos as from rinie's apartment :o) The different blue tones are very pleasant and it is great that you got the moon and one of those big ships with the captains car on the back in the same shot.

I followed this full moon during all the back at home during the night from saturday to sunday but didn't took a picture of it!
Anyway, that's a nice picture of the old Maas with the moon and this boat! The exposure is perfect! Well done!

Hello Jack, I finally find time to rate this beauty of a blue night taken from your hotel. The colors are so deep,and the picture pinsharp. I like the boat and the white water behind it. The (almost) full moon is great!

Nice view, I think I had a similar view from my hotel ;o).
Nice composition with the ship on the river.

Samll update: I think you choose the false lense in the desciption , the exif shows 29 mm, what is similar to my shot.

I like your Rotterdam pictures, Jack, but this one is very special. The moody blue BG gives me a strong feeling that I missed that TE gathering..and that's a shame!]but, maybe next time.
