Photographer’s Note

Located at the centre of the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek), Holland's flower-growing region, Lisse is also a major tourist attraction.
The sandy soil in Lisse's surroundings are highly suitable for its growth provided the soil was fertilized. The nearby dunes are excavated and forests cut down progressively over time for more fields for the flower business.
Lisse exports bulbflowers in large quantities to over a hundred countries world-wide.
During the spring when the fields around Lisse are in a colourful bloom, hundreds of thousands of local and foreign tourists visit the area.
And the tulip tourists are coming from far, as you can see here!

Hello Chris,
What a lovely composition! I like the multitude of red tulips and the lone figure of the monk standing slightly off center, it works very well. You've captured the contemplation and serenity of the "tourist" very well. TFS,

Very well captured shot and the juxtaposition of the monk among the tulips generates a different thought (something more than obvious visible things)

Well handled light and the control of exposure has contributed towards the depth and the sharpness of image..colours are waht makes nature shots stand out and youve done it well my friend..

The human element is a bonus..its neat and i like it that way :)

Hi Kris!
This is a great shot and strange at the same time.A monk from S.E.Asia in a dutch tulip field,a rare moment.I like his placement in the frame,his pose and thoughtful expression.Colors and contrast,and your POV are great ,too.
I have already the maximum of 100 allowed favourite images,and with this one I`ll start my personal theme "more than 100 favourites".
