Photographer’s Note
The Netherlands is famous for its windmills. Today there are still more than 1.000 mills. Nowhere in the world you will find as many windmills as near (the Dutch village) Kinderdijk. Around 1740 no less than 19 sturdy mills were built here. They have been well preserved to the present day. Kinderdijk is a small village at a distance of only 16 kilometers of Rotterdam and a little bit less than 10 kilometers from the cityborder of the oldest city in Holland, Dordrecht.
One of the windmills is opened for visitors during the tourist season, and at most of the days its operational too.
While visiting the windmill, anyone can get a pretty good idea about the functioning of the windmill and the lifestyle back then. During the 2nd complete week of september the Kinderdijk windmills are lighted at night, which is called mills in floodlight. This attracts many visitors from all over the world,a nd can be recomended to anyone.

Nice colors and silhouette, but I do not like the burned area around the sun

Hi Lucie,
I like your composition here with the sunset appearing in an even proportion between the windmills. The red light in the field beneath the sun is pleasant, and the colour of the sky is very pleasing.
Well done.

Wonderful photo and I especially like the light and then slightly visible corn in the front. It just really makes me come back to the Netherlands soon again!

This is a facinating sunset. I like the way the clouds are formed. The mills in combination with this beautiful sky create great impression. Good job.
