The Netherlands is a low-lying country with 25% of its land area below sea level and 50% less than 1 m above sea level. The Maeslantkering storm surge barrier is one of the largest moving structures on earth. Spanning the Nieuwe waterweg, a canal that connects the river Rhine to the North sea, the Maeslant acts as a final line of defence for Rotterdam against high levels of incoming seawater.

A mighty piece of equipment, and seeing it up this close makes me realize how big these things are! The angle you chose has excellent depth and really gives a feeling that I could just walk into the scene. Nice industrial design post!
all the best

Interesantan tekst o mestu i konstrukciji sa opisom ...
Dobar snimak i perspektiva, lepo pokazna gvozdena konstrukcija.
Prijatno vece i sve najbolje za vikend, srecno.
An interesting article on the site and the construction of the description ...
Good shot and perspective, nice demonstration of iron construction.
Good evening and all the best for the weekend, good luck.

Hi Gueguen, Your well chosen POV has given this structure a huge look. The patterns are well shown with great light and tones. Excellent depth created by the length of the structure. I like the hue of the sky which goes so well with the tones of the rest in the composition. Fantastic colours along with details. Thank for sharing

An impressive part of a great engineering job, and you managed to show how big is this only section of it.
Fine taken in depth, miguel, inspite the low light conditions, I can appreciate this iron structure.
Have a nice weekend,

We haven't crossed paths for a while. I was looking around to see what you were up to when this photo caught my attention. I like the lines and patterns this truss makes.
Hope you are keeping well,
