Photographer’s Note

Here you see a view to the east side of the marketplace. In the bacjkground you the roman catholic church (neo-gothic- late 19th century. The old churches are dutch reformed since the reformation.

There are no new buildings on the markets and the shops here are restricted concerning advertisement. The signs and names are in old style.

We blijven nog even in Delft dus. Ook deze met de kerk in de achtergrond mag ik wel zien, vooal in combinatie met de kleurrijke daken van de huizen.

Hi gerrit,
I particularly like the way you framed the three spires reaching for the clouds. I think it's a good rule, this is so much more atractive than a jumble of signs and cars. We just got rid of ourt worst cigarette billboard in Ocean Beach, but there are still more and MANY cars. HLJ, Pat

De kerk en de torens zijn zeer mooi en goed genomen, een mooie einde mei maakt blijkbaar de mensen vrolijk wandelend over het marktplein.
Zonder auto's vind ik het zeker gezellig, alleen mensen en duiven.
Mooi gedaan.

Another great photo of this place with a beautiful architecture. A good POV that gives perspective and heightens the vertical ones of the towers of the church, while it creates a great contrast between its apse and its nave with the houses of traditional style.
The people contribute dynamism and life to the scene.
It is a beautiful composition, with a good lighting and perfect colors.

Beautiful buildings. Very clear and sharp photo with great details, colours and light. POV is also good. I am, however, a little doubtful about the guy in red and the lady in green/blue. They get to much attention in the photo, maybe they are too close. That is of course my own opinion.

Another nice view of this gorgeous square with the typical buildings and their architecture enhancing the beauty of this place.
I like this line of houses and the high towers of the cathedral rising behind them. Also these persons passing by, or simply stunned by the beauty of this place gives great life and motion to this photo.
I agree with the decision of the authorities of this town of restricting the advertisements to something very low profile so that it doesn't interfere with the typical look of the square.

Hi Gerrit,

I know a little Delft to have made a small halt with my mother a few years ago and to have bought a delftware clock with this famous blue. I like much these houses with typical architecture and these great places. Beautiful catch of sight where emerges these two bell-towers. Good quality of the image.
