Photographer's Note

With about 600.000 cycles for 750.000 inhabitants, Amsterdam is THE city where the bicycle carries best its name in Europe. It is necessary to say that Netherlands is the only country to count more cycles than inhabitants - on average 1,11 cycle a person.

In Amsterdam, there are more than 400 kilometres of bicycle paths, and whoever tried to cross them on foot without looking was called back the order by the multiple knocks of horn. But once the tamed traffic, we discover a real paradise for the amateurs of the two-wheeler. 40 % of the inhabitants use their bicycle as main mode of transport.
