Photographer’s Note

Under a winter sun, on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland, a 4th photo of Brouwershaven.
The island of Schouwen-Duiveland is now linked with the continent by the bridge of Zeeland and by a seawall, the "Oosterscheldekering". The island of S-D was constitued from four island then from two, Schouwen and Duiveland.
Lanscapes typical of Zeeland with mills and big farms, small picturesque dorps as Dreischoor or ancient harbours of peach as Zierikzee or Brouwershaven whre this photos was taken.

Roger, this is a great shot, it is stark and direct and bold and very much an understatement but I think it is great. Color is hot yet the exposure is dead on, superb work.

Bonjour, Roger. Que peut bien regarde cet homme debout sur le seuil de sa porte. En tout cas, il est bien placé dans la composition pour orienter notre regard vers la droite de l'image. Ici, le vert et le blanc s'opposent pour créer du contraste dans l'image. Tu nous montres quelques détails architecturaux intéressants. J'aurais peut-être cadré un peu moins serré sur la droite, mais tu avais peut-être des raisons d'opter pour le cadrage que tu nous montres.

Hi Roger,
Not an easy job getting definition from a white front lit wall but you've done well.
Interesting decision with regard to your composition, at first look I wanted to see more of the bicycles on the right of frame, but then thought, what extra would I see, more of the bicycles at the expense of the left side of frame. It is a very well balanced shot, just enough detail throughout the shot to leave me thinking about the rest of the scene and using my imagination to fill in the blanks.
A very good shot, well thought out and captured superbly.

Les pots de fleurs cadrent bien la facade. L'homme semble apprécier ce qu'il voit. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la facade. L'image est claire et nette. la lumière aun bel effet sur les couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Je suis tout à fait d'acord avec lesquels qui ont dit qui c'est une image simple mais vraiment intéressant! Les détails architecturaux et la présence de l'homme ont été bien composés et cela, à mon avis, est la qualité plus importante de cette photo!

So where's your profile picture? Are you traveling incognito these days? hehe.

This image caught my eye right away because of the stark contrast between the bright white of the building and the dark trim, fence, man, bike, bush, and doorway. Your frame accentuates that contrast so well done there. I like that this picture could have been taken almost anywhere. It's such a universal moment of someone peering out the door as if in response to someone's call.
