An informative sign seen in the Oosterschelde national park. It is managed by the Natuurmonumenten and it's the largest national park in the Netherlands. Corvus monedula is a common crow family bird, the local subspecies is C.m.spermologus of western and central Europe. Cultural depictions : the princess Arne was bribed with gold by king Minos of Crete, and was punished for her greed by being transformed into an equally avaricious jackdaw, who still seeks shiny things. Czech superstition formerly held that if jackdaws are seen quarrelling, war will follow. The jackdaw was considered sacred in Welsh folklore as it nested in church steeples. Attractive and colourful picture of the information board. It's good to have these information boards in places of interest that are visited by tourists giving facts and history of the area. Sometimes I photograph these to use the info when posting on TE at a later date .
All the best

I know these birds well, anda beautiful species. As much as some say they are evil, I find them quite a cool animal. In my local petrol station, they have come to recognize my car now from me giving them food, and as soon as I pull in and park, a bunch of them cover to me and start squawking, looking for treats! Nice to learn more about them from your capture and notes.
All the best

When you have a lot of information which ıs difficult to remember as depicted here, then a photograph is a good and quick way to record it. İ sometimes do the same. Good sharpness which is critical for text. Even lighting and good use of a shallow dof. Tfs!
