Photographer’s Note

Picture number 4 in the series.
At last one with a windmill, I hear some of you say. Can you imagine the Netherlands without windmills?

This is Hulsters Mill in Schoondijke (not so far from where my previous picture was taken). This mill was built to replace another one that was destroyed (fell over) in 1884 and it stayed in service till the mid 1970's. In the beginning of the 1990's it was restaured. This mill is really very good conserved. It was the first owner who gave it its name.

For the one who is interested: there are two ways to photograph this mill. First: from the main street coming from Oostburg if you want to photograph the building up close. Second: from a path behind the mill. I chose the second option, based on the many useful critics I got in the past from all TE'ers and I must say I prefer it that way. Thanks again to all of you. Taking the picture from that way has another advantage: the area behind the mill is very beautiful. There is a nice creek (nature reserve) and then nothing but flat agricultural land. A typical beautiful Dutch sight.
Sometimes when looking somewhat further one can discover beautiful things...
