Here's a picture from Old Zealand, that watery province in the southern Netherlands, that gave us those brave seafaring explorers of yesteryear as well as the first dictionnary of the Dutch language. It's just across the border from Antwerp, making it one of our favourite places for a day out. It can be windy, though.
This picture was taken on the beach at Domburg. The parallel lines of wood are wave breakers. They are old and worn, but still do the job. Sometimes I feel like I'm a wave breaker too.

I agree with Malgorzata, it is taken perfectly. Photographed very often, the result is mostly a vertical picure, I do not remember to have seen it this way. Very good graphic idea!

A bold and elegant composition. It's stark but I like it. I wonder what it would look like with neutral filter and a long exposure...mmh....

Mooi werk, Benny.

simple but very effective! Two perfect lines on the upper third, well done, nothing more to say! Really like this one! Best regards, F.

Pretty simple shot, but its also effective with those subtle changes in tones from the wet sand. The wooden poles all in different shapes and sizes add a nice mix to the shot as well.

Minimalistic photography appeals to me very much and this is a great example. I like the two lines of worn wave breakers at the top of the image and the footprints in the silvery sand. Bold and very successful - well done.

nice observation this and really attractive minimalist composition. Love the light and the footprints are so irresistable and effective at drawing us in. Excellent!
Warm regards - Brian.

I like this minimalist composition. A good decision to convert to b & w.Well seen and presented and as someone as already said quite elegant.

I never had associated Netherlands and the sea, which means I am overdue to visit there to chweck it out someday. There is something ..zen..here. The simplicity belies a a higher sense if one chooses to feel it. Very elegant.
