Photographer’s Note
This building is a former distribution node of the Utrecht Electricity Company. It is a design of architect H.E. Schutte and was built around 1930 in the “Nieuwe Zakelijke Stijl”, most famous from architects like Gerrit Rietveld and Jacob Oud. This brick building is located on the corner of Waterige Weg and Henriette van Lijndenweg and clearly follows the roads on both sides. The building now houses one of Netherlands finest Design Furniture Stores and has an architect’s office on the top floor.
