[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Houtribdijk or Middeldijk seperates the Markermeer from the IJsselmeer. It is ca, 30km long and connects the town of Enkhuizen (west) with Lelystad (east). It was completed 1975, much later than the Afsluitdijk that separates the IJsselmeer from the north sea.

On this picture you see the bicycle track that accompanies the street. It can be very windy here and there are many insects in the air. Half way across the dike there is an artificial island with an restaurant and sand beach, inviting for a rest.
