No, not Venice!? Although known as the "Venice of the North," it maintains its own unique character and appeal with more than one hundred kilometres of canals, about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges.

that's a great shot, love the stylish curve of the houses and the clarity of the picture. Well done.

Funny.. I live about half an hour from Amsterdam
and I have never taken a picture there.
The picture is taken from a great point of view:
the diaginal lines of the houses and the canal
creates a nice depth. Composition and light
management are great and the colorful buildings
are a nice extra.

Good evening Jason,
Side street-canal that looks more as venezia of Holland, or may say backyards in the city. Not on regular tourists routes.
Fine colorful houses, in juxtaposition along, and boats parked/anchored on side.
lovely town, i know, well collected on image.

Beautiful architecture, and a wide variety of colours makes this really nice. The window boxes also add some nice variation in colour, and some natural beauty to the very man made scene. Really nice scene, thanks
All the best

I was here in 1999. very curious place, this city is just full of multi-culture life, but I don't like so wet climate ;) Very nice picturesque cityscape, fine PoV.
Your photo just brings me back to my 1st big trans-European trip.
Times gonna fly... Today is September, 5... ;)
