Dutch wooden clogs maybe are the most typical item of Netherlands tradition. I found these pairs of clogs outside the wooden shoe workshop in Zaanse Schans and I did like the way they were laying on the ground. It was like a mother and a child just left them there:-)!
The Wooden Shoe Workshop in Zaanse Schans is situated in the warehouse "De Vrede" (seems all buildings in Netherlands has a name), originally a 1780 storehouse from Westzaan serving as storage space for snuff and grain. "De Vrede" was moved to the Zaanse Schans in 1984. Part of the storehouse has been devoted to the Wooden Shoe Museum, one of the largest and most beautiful collections of wooden shoes in the Netherlands. There are daily clog making demonstrations and during the summer it is possible to see an authentic clog maker at work. The demonstrations take approximately 5 minutes and are given in many different languages.

In the shop clogs of all sizes and colours are for sale as well as many wooden shoe related souvenirs such as miniature clogs, key chains and money boxes.

"Klompen" in the Zaanse Schans, you couldn't made it more touristic, a nice shot in colour and composition, can you imagine that "we"
used these things in early days ?

Splendid colors, as always. Very cute composition and very good notes - informative yet doesn't solicit yawns ;-) This is prolly how we're alike, we create drama on the fotos we take. :) Except of course that the places you've been to are more colorful than where I've been. Lol. :)

A very appealing photo, George, so I came to give a closer look. Very colorful photo of these typical items of the Netherlands, as if they just left them there, as you said on your note. Simple but effective, I liked it!
