It is not always easy to find words to describe the beauty of your photo or the mood that you presented us here. Each one is very special in many ways. What I like very much here is the two mood you get from it. While the light is warm and romantic, it gives the false sense of comfort, because looking at the foreground where the icicle formed on the grass and coated the rock like sugar coated chocolate, it reminded us how cold that must be. Sitting in my warm room it is easier to appreciate it beauty than being out there in the cold. I know how it felt, being in the cold, I've been there, many times :)

As fervent photographers like us and some others, we always want the best light and best mood and best POV. I really appreciate your effort and I’m sure many feel the same way.

Hello Robert,
Excelent DOF on pic. from the frozen stones in foreground, to the far side of the light-tower-house at the end of the pier.
The golden tone on sky gave a marvelous backdrop to the scene. Nice winter shot, long exp. I guesse.

Dag Robert,

Weer deze zachte kleuren, u heeft duidelijk gewacht tot de gekleurde wold te voorschijn kwam.
U spreek over Volendam, de kraamkamer van veel goede zangers en zanggroepen, De Cats waren 50 jaar geleden een van mijn favoriete groepen.
Technisch een zeer goed beeld, schitterende samenstelling.

love the little hint of orange and reds/yellows in the skyline, and i'm eager to know what the exposure time is as the water has a really cool silky look to it.

Hi Robert.
It's the first time I go into your gallery and was pleasantly surprised by the beauty and quality of your pictures, my congratulations.
I choose to talk to you about this, but it could be any other, all I like .... This vertical framing is superb, with a great POV ranging from rocks and these ice crystals in the foreground, to the beautiful lighthouse in the background, with a smooth surface of the water, the sky beautiful, with those shades of gray and pink.
Wonderful job, elegantly presented.

the ice shapes on the stones in foreground are amazing, and open us a beautiful view on the splendid lighthouse in background. The image is very sharp, the light and the colors on the clouds are fantastic, and I love the nice silky effect on the water because of the long exposure time.

Hi Robert,

This isn't an obvious composition for me, as the foreground looks like a barrier, instead of introducing the eye into the composition.

But I do understand why you have built up this image the way you did, as these iced grass appear like precious gems. Of course you want to capture that! Then further on, you have this ice cream coloured sky, so when such natural phenomenon is offered to you, you would be a fool to ignore it.

Your exif aren't showed, but you must have used hyper focal technique to get a sharp foreground, as much as the background.

Hi Robert,

This has magnificent foreground clarity, and the deeper tones in the sky make for some strong contrast and an obviously sublime sunset. This definitely has your signature all over it! :) The crystal clear ice over the rocks and ground cover speaks to the season, but still looks to be a great spot to sit and watch the days last light. I really like the three distinct sections of this photo and how they're stacked within this framework. Impressive as always! Have a great week ahead. this is a magnificent picture both from an aesthetic and a technical point of view. You've put the vertical frame in excellent use creating great balance and depth as well as an intriguing connection of foreground and background. I love how the textures of the foreground, the details of the lighthouse and the few bright colours in the sky stand out in the deep pastel ambiance. There's a superb play of contrasting textures.
