Photographer’s Note

Marken is an ancient island in the IJsselmeer (Zuiderzee). Marken is connected to the "continent" by a causeway (1957).
Merken is a very nice village whith channels, bridges and characteristic wooden houses. It is easy to get Marken from Amsterdam (10 km).

Architecture et décorations typiques de Hollande... On imagine l'intérieur cosy de cette maison. Détail joliment cadré ici avec ces tuiles qui apporte un contraste intéressant. Bien vu Roger.

Hello,

fantastique iamge, quel beaug raphisme cet fenêtre avec ce noir-blanc, une mefveille, un captage au millimètre, avec le tuile rouge qui donnent la touche de couleur, splendide.

another well executed frontal catch. Good idea to include the roof which breaks the green and the white. There is an attractive graphism on it. Very well done!

It's been awhile since I've been on TE. I hope all is well with you.

This is a lovely image, depicting the charm of this island village. The white lace curtains in every window reminds me of London - seems like every window was adorned with lace curtains there!

But the dark green paint, with the white stripes, against the red tile roof, definitely tells me I'm not in London!

Nice composition to highlight the contrasting colors and lines. Good job preventing the white from blinding us.

Hi Roger,

Nice windows, fine graphcal effect of these stripes. I have heard they did not use the curtains and everyone could look inside (to see if the wife is not cheating the husband). I have no idea is it true or not. maybe someone was ppulling my leg:)) Pleasant photo.

bella composizione, con le finestre che lasciano vedere sia dentro che fuori (quella con i riflessi).
Belli anche i colori, con la fila arancione del tetto che contrasta molto bene con il verde della casa.

Hi Roger,
Good lines, the vertical and horizontal catch the interest immediately.
Is this typical of the area, or just a one off.
I like the way all of the detail seems to match, even the standard lamps inside the building appear to be the same.
Obviously a very house proud owner, it looks to be in immaculate condition.
Good to see an area in marco detail like this, I'd love to visit this place, thank you for the informative capture.

Charming capture of this lovely green cottage with its lovely white windows.
Love those old lace curtains little plants decorating these pretty windows that are seen in rich warm light.

superbe cadrage serré mettant bien en valeur le graphisme donné par toutes ces lignes blanches dans le vert foncé!J'aurais bien vu un cadrage sans les tuiles pour donner un impact encore plus fort,mais c'est superbe aussi comme ça!Les rideaux viennent ajouter un touche de douceur et de romantisme dans cette composition géométrique!

These windows are typical dutch, my grandparents living in Holland, my mother is a Dutch. Very fine for look at, composition and presentation are superb.

La prise de vue permet de voir les couleurs et les détails de la facade de cette maison. Le sujet est bien cadré. L'image est claire et nette. Il y a un bon contraste entre les couleurs de la facade, des cadrages et du toit. Bonne journée.

C'est une photo très agréable avec un graphisme très sûr du blanc sur fond noir. Les tuiles sont les seules taches de couleurs vives pour faire ressortir le noir et blanc.

Ces jolies maisons sont d'un graphisme redoutable.
Le mélange vert sombre et blanc est encore plus beau, je trouve, que le noir et blanc.
Excellent cadrage pour nous faire apprécier cette architecture si particulière.
