Photographer’s Note

I took this picture at Hilversum bus station. In the mist, this lady seemed so lonely, a paradox to the bus station that usually crowded during the day. I cropped a lot to emphasize the lady and the bus. Please comment..

Wonderful fog and light. I like the few and soft colors that manages to defeat the fog. The woman in the clearness of short distance makes the picture together with the repeated signs. Maybe a tightre crop on the left would be better, not sure.

PS. Hilversum brings back memories. I have never been there but it used to be on the scales of old radios.

Excellent shot, very moody : an old lady lost in a deserted unfamiliar unfriendly bus area. I think it would even be better in total BW loosing all traces, even slightest, of color.

Imagine the bus station at say, anywhere from Jakarta to Manado, or anywhere in Asia... What an enormous difference between the crowded asian transport stations and these eery anonymous places in Europe. I know you've traveled a lot and it's not new but I just can't help wondering about what might be your feelings and sometimes disappointments about for an Indonesian guy living in Europe, Tomi (Is that correct about your situation?).

We westerners often write this and that in our captions about our trips in SEA specially about our surprises and our experience with teh local people.
I'd really like to read your genuine honests thoughts about our world and what you think about our way of living. Could be very interesting.

Again, very well done Tomi. Nothing but kudo's for this shot. I personally like the picture in colour because I recognise the colours of the buses. The yellow and green buses are the regional buses, they travel between cities and towns, the other bus in the background is an inner city bus; it usually has advertising on it. This must be quite early in the morning, before rush-hour. Well seen. The picture is in perfect balance, I would not crop any further.

wonderful light.lady makes good attraction point in frame.Good composition.
