manrezaei (1837) 2013-04-24 0:41
Wonderful symmetry. Superb contrast, excellent calrity and sharpness you captured. The ropes in right side is an eye catcher point. Very good point of view.
finlay (1549) 2013-04-24 1:00
Like the strong colour of the boat, it really stands out against the grey of the sky and sea. The reflection is superb, it's almost mirror like with the water being so still. Very well done.
Kugart (1778) 2013-04-24 1:08
Superb shot of the minesweeper.Nice composition and POV to include the ropes which gives good depth to the photo.Nice reflection on the water, tonal quality and sharpness.

You have submitted a really cool title for this image! Like it a lot! The water reflections made the view unique and extremely attractive. Beautiful work as always. TFS.

Woow Bob,the reflections seems better that the real, incredible capture whit a spectacular quality, great perspective made by the decentralized position of the boat and great effect create by the strings,i like it!! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Great reflection with a real sense of stillness. Sharp and clear with a lovely colour palette overall. Good POV and line from the ropes.
I wouldn't worry about the image deterioration here. I am never happy with the way my images appear on TE, partly due to the reduction in file size but also because TE as a site leaves a lot to be desired - no matter how perfect I get it something always gets lost after upload on this site. Same image on Flickr and it looks like it should be hanging in an art gallery.
Your image looks great on my screen anyways.
serp2000 (39526) 2013-04-24 1:51
I think a reflection theme is one of the most popular on the TE. Well captured, excellent colors combination, clever choice of PoV. TFS!

Mooi zo, bedankt.

there is no doubt that digitally presented files suffer from a lack of definition when compared to the printed image, however this remains an excellent photograph, thoughtfully composed making the most of the subject with good use of the vertical corners.
Beautifully understated colours with a mirror like sheen on the water it`s a fine capture.

timecapturer (47952) 2013-04-24 5:52
different subject matter for you, but just as entrancing and beautifully managed. Love the rope lead in and of course the glass like reflection. The minesweeper looks so tranquil and at peace in this shot. I love the tonal quality on the hull it makes for a striking contrast to the flat water and sky. Stunning image as always.
Regards - Brian.

Hello Robert - Your composition really is enthralling, although the scene is quite calm your careful construction of the shot has resulted in quiet drama. The lovely sweep of the mooring lines add dynamism. Beautiful colours, fine reflections, what more can one say? Warm regards Rosemary

This is a very well composed picture. Also the colour are very good and in a very pleasant harmony. An outstanding photo!

Painted image of light, fantastic, full of colors
so characteristic of your style.

I express this opinion in a positive sense, as something that is your trademark.

Good evening Robert,
Lucky with the cars lights on side, gave an enhanced orange tone, created and contributed to a fabulous reflection.
Fantastic contrast against the grey sky aloft.
danos (85757) 2013-04-24 10:33
nice the view of the mooring boat with its reflection to complete perfect the whole image.I like the good placement in the frame as the excellent light and the colour management of the scene.Perfect the quality of the image.

Ciao e buona serata

I want to reach out and grab the rope, it feels like it's within my grasp by just looking a this picture...what an incredible perspective! Would I sound like too much of a broken record if I said "another great shot?!!" :) Well what else is there to say, it is! The light on the back end of the boat looks to be more sunlight than passing cars, it's a nice flare against the rest of the image... noticeable, but not distracting...just the right touch of effect. As always, your rendering of colors is astonishing...so smooth and gentle. Chalk up another beauty! Thanks for a look at Haarlem. Have a great day.

Hi! Beautiful picture! Sharpness, exposure, colors, horizontal format, chosen pov and composition! I love those reflections! Cheers, Neyvan

kabel (1659) 2013-04-25 8:57
Hello, good light and excellent composition. The ropes provide an interesting lead in line. The reflection also provides good symmetry.
bayno (18342) 2013-04-25 11:40
Ciao Robert, i love the boat theme, here the compo is perfect...seem than i can take the rope and pull ;)...wonderful contrast between the tones a a reflection like in the mirror.......super details...
adramad (37285) 2013-04-25 12:51
A superb composition, striking these perfect reflections, allowing us to see two boats, one in inverted position, incredible sea surface with a dead calm, which gives that feeling of grayish sky mirror, which has a large image harmony color, with color touch warm boat.
Very well done. I love it.
Very good the management of the brightness, sharpness shows clearly all the details.
Have a good night.
Gigidusud (15125) 2013-04-25 13:31
Beautiful mirror which reflects the old boat. A great depth and splendid contrasts colors. I like a lot!

Amazing mirror-like reflection Robert! Great colours too.
Wish I could see it printed of paper! :)
HimalAnda (9314) 2013-04-26 11:00
That's a beautiful picture, due to the nice light and the great composition. The eye follows the rope to go on the boat.
mkamionka (30212) 2013-04-26 13:10
very impressive work again.
The boat is crispy sharp and thus anchors the picture in the reality I have tried once similar theme but there was some wind and not only there was no reflection but also the boats were moving too much.
Here you had perfect conditions the reflection is 100%.
A real master piece.
Have a great weekend,
ourania (30097) 2013-04-26 13:45
this is a magnificent picture. You've created a very dynamic composition, minimal, elegant and attractive and you've captured a special aspect of the port, not seen by many. The predominant colours are rare and very beautiful, their combination and role in the frame is alluring. I also love the contrast, reference and balance brought by the quay in the distant background. Brilliant work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,

Dag dear Robert
A beautiful and elegant photo. I like how you positioned the ship off-centre and have used the ropes to accentuate the perspective, with their lines coming from the corners of the frame. The reflections are sensational, and I love those soft blue colours that you are so well-known for.
UlfE (14641) 2013-04-27 3:16
I realize I have not visited your gallery for a while and the you have posted a few more beautiful photos. The composition of this photo is absolutely top-class with the boat perfectly positioned to be in focus. The two ropes starting in the bottom right corner are also really great for the composition. Perfect sharpness. TFS and have a nice weekend!
macjake (55504) 2013-04-27 19:06
I can't believe i missed this photo in your gallery!
I must be blind :)
probably my favorite photo of yours.
love the fg ropes drawing us in, and the grey-blue colors of the sky mixed with the peachy colors of the boat.
the position of the boat is so effective too, and the water is so motionless!!
abmdsudi (42540) 2013-04-27 23:19
This is a powerful image, the profiles are so strong, tantalizing and the mirror effect. Very impressionistic as the mooring ropes holds the eyes in so superbly and leads with excellent closeness and wide coverage to yield a more depth and perspective. This is indeed another eye-catching silky smooth rendition of this wonderful peaceful shot. Great stuff I love it. Congrats
Waylim (25186) 2013-04-28 0:17
Beautiful, you usualy quality and beautiful rendition of colors and rich in mood and dramatic atmosphere. What I love most here is the depth and the perspecive of the baot and it really appear as it is popping out of the background and cold blue sky and water right into my room with those ropes.

this pic has been taken wonderfully and perfectly well done with razor sharp reflection. Like it. Fantastic photo job. Thank you.

Fantastisch gedaan, Robert. Ongelooflijk hoe 'glad' het water is. Een echte spiegel! The kleuren zijn bijna onwerkelijk. Prachtig.
Fijne dagen Kiks

I think it won´t be exaggeration if I say you´re a master of creating such unique, calm moods.
Although you´re complaining here about loosing the quality after reduction of the file, but in my opinion it´s still superb. And the rope fulfill its task excellently(it adds really amazing 3D feeling to the scene). The last thing is the light and the way you utilized it.Magnificent how you separated the boat(so lovely, warm illuminated) from the quite cold, icy looking surrounding.
kordinator (16311) 2013-07-05 0:26
Excellent ppostcard from Netherlands.
