Birds like fish and so they like fishermen and fishing ships.
This is quite a number of seagulls and sterns following the fishing boat.
Taken from the beach of the Koog on Texel, the biggest of the Islands in the Waddenzee.

Hello Gerrit,
A very moody atmosphere to this composition. The foreground swell is well captured and creates a great sense of dynamism. The ship is nicely placed and the seagulls are an interesting bonus.

Ik vind dit een hele mooie foto. Vooral het licht op de golf en het water is prachtig. De boot in de verte is hier ook mooi meegenomen en al die vogels maken het af. Knap werk!

A wonderful shot, excellent composition and lovely treatment to get the most out of the image, the foreground wave with the white water adds a lot of dimension to the shot.

Hallo Gerrit,
Toen ik de thumbnail zag dacht ik even dat je met deze foto aan het photoshoppen was geweest en de surfers door meeuwen had vervangen en die lelijke rand er afgehaald had. Het is een wonder dat de TOS dit “elaborated frame” heeft laten staan.

Not an easy picture to take, I guess in backlight, but you've caught the waves well and the trawler in silhouette with the flying gulls. Love the colour of the sea...well done!
