Falling evening in Amsterdam, I loved the subtle rose in the sky reflected in the water (the clearness of the sky and the smoothness of the water predicting frost). This sort of color fades very quickly, not a chance to walk home first to get my "real" camera. I could have walked on, or I could have shot the scene with my camera phone, so I chose the latter. And ended up with what is still one of my favorite pictures of Amsterdam.
This camera phone is actually pretty good (better than many compact cameras were when 2 megapixels was the norm), but I knew this was a hard shot to take - it's noisy in low light, and on top of that there was constant traffic over the bridge I was standing on (even someone walking behind me would cause a vibration - imagine what happens when a tram comes by); the first shot I took ended up hopelessly blurred though I could only see that when I'd downloaded the images.
I did only some gentle (but very careful) PP: slight straightening, noise reduction (hard to keep the sky smooth and not lose the fine ripples in the water in the foreground), a little bit of sharpening.
