Photographer’s Note

Today a "sunday"-picture.
This week, I wanted to shot some pictures in the Begijnhof in Amsterdam. It is remarkable, that there are no people on this picture, while there's always an invasion of tourists here !
I realised, I was on the right moment, and I'm very happy about it.

When you are in the Begijnhof, you do not notice, that you are in the noisy city-heart
of Amsterdam.
It is a peaceful village-green, which is founded in the 14th century as a resident for women, who did not want to go to a nunnery.
They kept busy with education and nursing
and enjoyed the freedom here.
It was not prohibited to have dogs or cocks,
this could be too noisy.
Without permission they might not invite women or man to stay the night.

This is one of the touristic attractions in Amsterdam and as said, always tourists here,
but it is worth going to have a look.
