Photographer’s Note

The most popular kinds of private transport in Amsterdam are cars, bikes and boats. As the city streets are very narrow, its more convenient to go by bicyle than by car. For bike-riders it is also easier to find a parking place, even on a bridge.
As the Amsterdam is a city of canals, boats are another popular kind of transport. They are running up and down the Amstal river and the canals.

Hi Katia!
You achieved a neat image on that bridge, not to say the previous ones were fuzzy (just a bit crowded ;-), but that DoF instantly makes the most dogged of its watchdogs silent.
It's a bit of a mess for a parking place, though. That was the intent to put these foremost, but it looks shed-like. It must be a trial for an early cyclist to separate his bike from the wreckage.
And, the sky is just a bit overclear, but it's clear too it would have been white anyway. Nice sleepy street, have a nice sleepy time too!

Very nice DOF and good symmetry in this image. Perhaps a little more of bicycles would add to this photograph, however it is a great shot.

wonderful shot showing a typical view of a´dam, katia! :-)
bikes and grachten, something that stays in one´s mind
after a visit there...besides some others of course.
great view down the canal, giving the photo a terrific depth
to the next bridge and beyond, good "entry" with the bike-mix in the fg.

A great shot with good foreground interest which captures the mood of the city well. I like the perspective which gives great depth. The image is nice and sharp. The challenge would have been to retain some colour in the sky which would have led to difficulties in exposing correctly the canal. Great work nonetheless.

Very nice composition Katia! Great use of the bicycles in the foreground and beautiful perspective in the rest of the picture. Very nice soft colours. The only "problem" i can see is that the picture is "leaning" a little bit to the left. Besides that , a great job.

Hi Katia,

I like very much the composition and the sense of depth that the canal gives to the image, leading the eye into the background.

It seems that the day was not the best, but the colors are very nice (and excellent sharpness too).

Very good shot, i think. The subject is clear, the lines are simple. The eye is automaticaly guided towards one point, the bridge in the back.
I missed this clear focus in your previous post.

Ciao Katia, with autumn knocking on the door, this spring photo makes me realise we still have a winter to go before we can enjoy this view again.
Your note is a good description of Amsterdam, and it compliments the photo. There is a good symetry in the photo. but the sky is uninteresting, I wish I knew what advice to give to you, because I also have the same problem.
