Photographer's Note
I was showing my mother around in Amsterdam while she was on her visit and we came across this scene. A man, sitting on the side of the canal and a girl next to him. He took out his violin and started to play. The girl was really interested and then he started to teach her to play. I almost got the feeling they had met before and he was giving her lessons!
Need advice on how to bring them both out a bit from the picture? I tried to highlight just them but i couldn't get it good. Please go ahead and do some workshop!

It's a great photo, and your note makes it all the more interesting, but technically it doesn't have the quality you need. Was the original digital or film? It looks like film, if so maybe you can try scanning again at a lower contrast level to preserve more detail in the shadows. I tried cropping to just their faces, but the white van in the background is still very distracting.

Very charming scene you caught there, but the technical quality is bad, I tried a workshop.

Could have been a gteat shot, if the image quality would have been reasonable.
