Photographer's Note
The statue is located in front of the Amsterdam City Hall (at Zwanenburgwal).
The statue includes image of Spinoza himself, and next to him an icosahedron, an geometric form with 20 faces. This symbolizes the universe as a model, created by the human mind.

Hello Rimantas,
Thank you for sharing this image of the statue of Spinoza. I did not know about the existence of the statue. As for the Icosahedron and the model of the universe, in distinction, the ancient Pythagoreans imagined the universe as a dodecahedron. Among the five "Platonic Solids" the other four were thought to be "atoms" of the four elements, and the dodecahedron with 12 sides, the shape of the universe.
Warm regards,
Bulent
