Amsterdam - Concertgebouw.
qualche giorno fa ho avuto l'opportunita' di fare foto durante le prove di un concerto di musica classica.
non avevo molta luce a disposizione ma ho cercato lo stesso di sfruttare quella che c'era - il gioco di luci ed ombre sul palco mi ha sempre affascinato e spero che - nonostante il rumore dei 400 ISO - l'immagine riesca a trasmettere lo stesso l'atmosfera di quei momenti prima del concerto.
Myself When I Am Real e' un brano per pianoforte di Charles Mingus - il pianista della foto suonava Schubert ma il titolo mi sembrava adatto al momento :)

a few days ago I was given the opportunity to take a few pictures during the rehearsals of a concert. the light in the concert hall was not perfect but it was sufficient to shoot without flash - I have always loved the typical lights and shadows on stage and I hope that - despite the noise - the image can convey the atmosphere of those moments before the concert.
maybe I should have hinted at Schubert in the title - since this is what was played at the concert - however, Charles Mingus was playing "Myself When I Am Real" at the piano when I was preparing the picture and it seemed to fit the mood of those moments :)

Wow, a perfect black and white shot with lots of dynamic in it. Your framing, concentrating on the essential is superb. The angle is a nice touch and technically the photo is amazing.

Crisp shot in the low light, without noise, and the tilt reveals the melody he is playing. Good reflections on the piano.
As always, a superb B&W master piece!

Hello Cristina,
Taking pictures of a piano you have to do it in B&W, that's for sure. This whole picture is so much about contrasts of black and white, or just darker and lighter areas. My very favourite area is the well polished black wood that shows us a pair of almost black hands opposite the very white pair.

A piano is quite static by nature, yet good music is moving, as is a good picture. Hence the tilt :)

Bravo cristina,

I think the b&w fits perfect with this kind of photos,this could be the albumcover for a fine classical cd,the noise level in here is ok ,cant see it ;=]],Amsterdam and the concertgebouw are both institutes with endless history of music..
