Photographer’s Note
Fall has really arrived now with more and more rain and days are getting shorter quickly. Soon we'll have first frost similar to what can be seen on this photo from Amsterdam with a view towards the eastern part of the center, still close to the central railway station which is just outside on the right.
This happened to be a bright in december 2007 day but they are scarce.
Because I rather have it a bit warmer then during Dutch winter ... give me spring or summer instead of grey days and rain ... I don't want to think about it.
I'll look forward to visit the tropics again in december/january. Till that time I will keep posting more tropical photo's to keep the spirit high.

Dag Harko,
Good cityscape of Amsterdam. It seems cold in this picture, but we know it is full of life.

Hi Harko,
very good composition of Amsterdam skyline. I like both crop and how you divided the image, placing the horizon line right in the frame and reserving two thirds for the sky. Luminosity is pleasant and the details are pin sharp. Great job!

Hi Harko,
A very beautiful panorama on Amsterdam winter. I like much the smoothness of this photograph and the good balance of the composition. The lights are well managed and the natural colors are very pleasant. A photograph which could be used as model with a painter, thank you Harko.
With all my friendships and a very good evening,

Hello, Harko,
those of you in the Netherlands have a great advantage when the sun does shine. I have never seen such light. I love the softness of the winter colors and the excellent detail and perfect straight lines of the architecture. The angle of the light is perfect and the contrast is outstanding. Wonderfully composed with the tall spires off centered, too. That is a lovely winter shot. Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly
