La Meuse à Maastricht, a photo from Limburg, South

La météo était plutôt clémente hier après midi à Maastricht. Toutefois, le ciel s'est subitement obscurci nous offrant ce paysage. Je n'ai pas résisté!
Ici une vue de la Meuse à Maastricht.
À l'époque romaine, Maastricht était un lieu de passage de la Meuse pour la chaussée romaine reliant Bavay à Cologne et un pont y avait été construit ; d'où les appellations Trajectum ad Mosam en latin et Maastricht en néerlandais qui signifient passage de la Meuse.

Toutefois, la ville de Maastricht, située au confluent du Geer et de la Meuse, n'est fondée qu'à la fin du IVe siècle
Aujourd'hui, Maastricht est une ville culturelle qui possède une université depuis 1976 et un musée d'art moderne. Le Maastricht Exhibition & Congress Centre (MECC) accueille chaque année The European Fine Art Fair qui compte parmi les plus grandes foires internationales d'art et d'antiquité. De son glorieux passé, la ville a conservé de nombreuses traces : fortifications, basilique Saint-Servais (X-XIIe s.), basilique Notre-Dame (Xe s.), église Saint-Jean (XVe s.), Hôtel de ville (1658-1664), etc. La ville est agréable pour la promenade à travers ses nombreux parcs publics.

The weather report was rather clement yesterday after noon in Maastricht. However, the sky suddenly darkened offering us this landscape. I didn't resist!
Here a sight from the "Meuse"(Maas) to Maastricht.
In the Roman period, Maastricht was a stopping-off place of the Meuse(Maas) for the Roman road connecting Bavay in Cologne and a bridge had been built there,where from naming Trajectum ad Mosam in Latin and Maastricht in Dutch which mean passage of the Meuse(Maas). However, the city of Maastricht, situated in the confluence of Geer and the Meuse(Maas), is based only at the end of the IVth century Today, Maastricht is a cultural city which possesses a university since 1976 and a museum of modern art. Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre ( MECC) welcomes every year The European Fine Art Fair who counts among the biggest international fairs of art and antiquity(antique). Of the past glorious sound, the city kept(preserved) numerous tracks: fortifications, basilica Saint served ( X-XIIth s), basilica Our Lady ( Xth s), church Saint Jean ( XVth s), City hall ( 1658-1664 ), etc.
The city is pleasant for the walk through its numerous city parks.

An excellent composition with good contrast in the sky. The dar clouds really add mood to the picture. Good balance of light and colors. A well taken and well seen scene during threatening weather. Nice work Denise :-) The note is very interesting and informative.

Nice shot Very Very atmospheric, love the deep colour of the sky. Nice colour tones also in the sky on left. I like the POV, a shame I think there isn't something in the middle of the water to give the shot some movement, but good as it stands.

Tres chouette ca, j'aime bien ces vues ou les elements s'equilibrent, la delimitation entre les deux zones de temps est plutot marquee, et apparemment tu devrais te deplacer vers le pont vite pour ne pas mouiller ton appareil ;-)

La bande de ciel claire contraste bien avec les nuages si foncés et le bateau éclaire en effet le premier plan et donne un équilibre par rapport aux maisons en face.

Et ben....encore un carton avec celle-ci que j'allais presque passer sans rien voir.....non d'un chien..!
Une très belle prise qui mérite bien la venue de tous ces membres. Une photo style trois D en relief, c'est vraiment l'effet quelle donne...! Un terrible ciel qui en arrache en tout les cas.. !
De temps en temps tu nous sort le grand jeu et j’en redemande plus… !

Les ciels d'automne ont été assez exceptionnels cette année. Celui-ci est particulièrement impressionnant. J'aime beaucoup le rayon de soleil sur la péniche qui la fait ressortir de l'ensemble.

Superb tones and hues here, with this smooth yet clear shot of the lovely city and water elements. The boat in the foreground nicely balances the frame, while the bridge in the distance is both photogenic and contributing to further balance in dividing the frame in part. The threatening sky overwhelms the senses and provides great evening ambience. Very fine work...demain.
