Photographer’s Note

The leaves are fallen and although I'd like to show some colourful ones from autumn I like to show the winter of Curaçao first.
This is Barbara Beach on the east side of the Island. It's on the south coast at the only opening to the sea of the Spanish Water, a complex seies of lagunes.
It's at the end of the day and just before sunset the sun dissapeared behind the clouds leaving a silver glow over the water.

Why you didn’t come down to Suriname? I just check your photo’s taken date. Splendid leaden colored reflection is on ocean. Clouds are so familiar and very nice as every time. Boats and palms are adding good view. Congratulations.

Hello Gerrit.
A very dynamic scene here. THe clouds look like a painting as they glow from the sun hidden behind. The water has a beautiful golden glossiness that lends itself to the mellow mood of your shot. I like the inclusion of the boat...what are the three items floating close behind?

Dag, Gerrit. Wat een wondermooie hemel. Die wolken met al hun kleurschakeringen vind ik echt heel mooi. Ik zie ze eerst alvorens de zee te zien. Daar heb je ook een mooie compositie met de palmbomen en de boot aan de linkerkant die de ruimte goed vullen.

Je zou toch niet meteen denken dat dit de Antillen zijn en juist daarom zo mooi vastgelegd. Het water wordt dan mooi opgeligt, maar wat ik het sterkst vind overkomen zijn die dikke vette wolkenpartij...indrukwekkend.

A magnificent composition with a spectacular sky, which gives a soft light and a few tones silvered to the water really beautiful.
A winter atmosphere is obvious in the photo, the clouds attract our attention thanks to his great beauty, and the ship gives a touch of white color that is OK to this gray composition.

You have captured an impressive and dynamic cloud formation; and I like the way it makes a line above the horizon. The landscape, with the boat, looks a little like Florida. A good atmopshere captured with a good contrast in light and texture between the clouds and the water and landscape. Nice capture.
