Photographer’s Note

This is one of the little public beaches around the city. It is called Marie Pompoen and is situated just next to the touristic beaches Kontiki and Seaquarium.
Normally - when the sun shines - you can see the 'skyline' of Punda, the centre of the city, but today it is raining and the beach is deserted.

I like the fantastic color contrast, between the cyan sea, & red sand. Good contrast & saturation, with excellent sharpness. Congratulations!

Some interesting colours here. I like the overall composition with the branches acting as a frame at the top. Not so happy with the one sticking in halfway down the righthand side.

Bonjour mon ami Gerrit,
Malgré la pluie, les lieux restent enchanteurs. L'on sent le soleil qui n'est pas loin, la luminosité est suffisante, pour valoriser cette très belle réalisation.
Je remarque que vous avez de très bonnes connaissances en matière d'architecture "dernière critique relative à l'ermitage".

Hoi Gerrit,
Zal ik maar in het Nederlands, altijd makkelijk in onze eigentaal.
Ik ben nooit op de Nederlandese Antillen geweest, maar volgens uw foto's moet dit een schitterende omgeving zijn, want ik kan zo even wegzinken op de mooie kleuren en de complete samenstelling van deze foto.
De kleur schakering maakt alles nog stukken mooie, en een recente foto ook!
Goed werk geleverd.

Were you taking shelter under the palm tree?

Anyway, those leaves in the foreground helped in achieving a great composition, with great colors, sharpness and contrast!

Those tropical storms sometimes produce fantastic colors and contrasts, and you shot them very well!

De afdak is in ieder geval droog.
Het valt zeker niet mee om tijdens zo'n bui goede composities te nemen. Maar zo met dat afdak enb die kleuren, vind ik het zeker aardig gedaan.

The sky is looking nice with the sea as its water's color is beautiful. Good contrast and sharpness. Framing of leaves is a nice idea.
