The Road of Saba Photo

Photographer’s Note

A sight of the single road of Saba. On this island of the Dutch West Indies, there is only one road which curves on 14 km with side of volcano. It goes from the airport close to the coast passes by the three small agglomerations and finish at the other end of the island at the port. It was necessary nearly 20 years for the valiant inhabitants of the island to arrive at end of this difficult relief and to finish the road in 1958. What is the name of this road ? "The Road", Obviously!
Perched on the rocks and over the sea, the buildings which one sees in background are those of the school of the island which counts approximately 1400 hbts.

I allways have a smile on my face seeing mountans like this and thinking about your flat MAINcountry.
Great POV for this shot and a nice view at these mountans,the road and the wonderful blue,tropic sea.A very good exposure with brilliant colors.

A well chosen POV to appreciate this view. I wouldn't fancy jogging up and down those hills. Good rugged textures visible. Nice one.

dans cette photo j'aime bien le point de vue qui domine le paysage. J'espère que cette unique route est bien entretenue et je constate qu'il y a bien une voiture qui l'utilise.

This is a great landscape shot with the blue sea as a backdrop. Your composition is fine using the road to lead the eye through the shot. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail.

Parfait cadrage pour donner au paysage toute sa beauté. C'est vrai que le travail fourni par les habitants est remarquable pour arriver à un tel résultat.
J'aime beaucoup cette petite voiture qui forme une jolie tache de couleur sur la route. Très intéressante prise de vue fort bien réalisée.

Bonsoir Jean,

Cette route est sinueuse entre la colline et le ravin et l'océean en arrière-plan. La prise de vue donne de la profondeur à la photo et permet de voir les détails et les couleurs des rochers et de l,architecture des maisons. La photo reçoit une bonne luminosité ce qui fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Hello Jean,

Encore une vue agréable de bords de mer ! Je note la présence d'une Porsche orange sur la route ! Il s'agit là d'un point d'accroche discret mais bien plaçé.
Une vue plongeante très agréable !

The orange vehicle, & the red rooftops, contrast nicely, against the cobalt blue of the sea. A marvellous high vantage point, with an expansive coastal view, & excellent sharpness. Bon travail!

En effet le paysage a l'air escarpé !
Sympa d'avoir (je présume) attendu une voiture pour déclencher, ça ajoute quelque chose d'important.
Bien sur les autres éléments sont agréables eux aussi, de belles couleurs et plein de détails.

C'est vrai que c'est toujours surprenant quand on ragarde la vignette de voir Pays-Bas!!
Elles sont vraiment perchées en haut de la falaises ces maisons, faut pas faire de faux pas le matin en se levant!!
De très belles couleurs pour cet endroit superbe!!

C'est bien vue cette petite route accrochée dans la pente et qui semble se jeter dans la déclivité. Le point de vue est superbe ainsi que le cadrage qui place les maisons sur fond de mer. Bien vu et bien fait

Au moins on ne peut pas se perdre c'est l'avantage de la route unique !!! Un joli POV plongeant ici qui donne un beau relief au paysage. La lumière et les couleurs naturelles sont très agréables. Je me suis laissé aller à un petit WS pour le plaisir.
