Photographer’s Note

This picture of bundles of cane is taken in the Weerribben National Park.

At this time of the year, the forestry commission cuts down all the common reed in the national park and burn the bundles. They do this to prevent that the canals will become overgrown, the waterflow will be obstructed and many of the indiginous flowers and wildlife species will disappear.
