Photographer’s Note

Hi all,

This shot is taken a year ago, on 31-12-2005.
Taken in the home of the best friends of our family.
What you see, is what we in Holland eat when the end of the year approaches (it's all sweet and you eat is somewhere after dinner..we don't eat this for dinner, let that be clear).
On the left "Appelflappen", upperright corner "Oliebollen" and in the lower right corner some other sweet stuff "Appelbeignets" and the last I believe "Sneeuwballen" (English : Snowballs), those are the white one's.

I just wanted to show this tradition, as it's fits also the day of today, the last day of this year : 31-12-2006!

I wish you all a glorious, healthy new year, 2007, filled with fun, love, energy and photography!

The crop is a bit tight I believe, sad I didn't pay more attention to it last year. It's still taken with my compact camera..I think no need to mention technical details.

Nothing more than Selective Sharpening (USM & Smart Sharpen) and adding the border. Just keeping it pure.

Some yers ago I often spent my new year eve in Amsterdam, in a friend of mine home - and I miss such a place!
Looking at your nice pic I remember my good time.

Happy New Year Emiel. A lot of this looks familiar even to someone born and raised in New Zealand, having Dutch parents helps though ;-). Great capture and thanks for sharing.
