A touch of Frost Photo

Photographer’s Note

In my intro on trekearth I tell that it was my grandfather who encouraged me in my love of nature. That he took me with him when I was just a little girl to show me special spots and tell me everything about them. Today was such an occasion, we went to a place (in de Beetse, Oost-Groningen) where there are stairs onto a small hill from which you can overlook a beautiful area (a bit of moor and a water). Every step of the stairs bears a poem of a Dutch poet about this particular piece of nature on it.
It was a beautiful day, it had frozen and everything just twinkled and shone. My mum and granddad kept urging me to come with them but I just couldn't stop taking pictures so they were totally frozen when finally I came. It was great!
This is one of the pictures I took of the moor on one side of the monument. Hope you either like it or that you can give me some hints!

Hi Josien,
it's nice to see you have taken the effort to go out early, make some nice shots and post them directly the same day on TE. The morning was the same in Flanders today but I... was still in bed :-(.
Nice capture of the moor. Is there a (big) tree on the left? (shadow bottom left) The high grass on the foreground are real eye-catchers.
I like it a lot.

Dit is een droom van een foto en dan vergeet je totaal dat je vingers er bijna af vriezen - nou het was het waard. Bij mij was het ook mijn opa die mij de liefde voor de natuur bijbracht en nu ik zelf oma ben, probeer ik dat ook over te dragen.
Puur genieten - wat zal je opa trots zijn als hij naar jouw foto's kijkt!

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetje...

Josieeen... wat doe je.
Wat een mooie foto. Hijs gewoon echt helemaal af!!
Het mooiste van de compositie vind ik wel die linker boom, net boven die twee zee-egelachtige planten. En hoe mooi komt die vorst tot z'n recht hier. Dat kleine laagje wit net over de grond, dat door het landschap heen loopt.

Je bent echt goed bezig zie ik wel. Je foto's gaan met schokken de goeie richting op. Ben benieuwd naar het vervolg!

Ik heb ondertussen ook zo'n soort landschapje ontdekt, maar das zo'n half uur fietsen vanaf hier. Dat had ik dus eigenlijk vanmorgen moeten doen... maarja.. geen ochtendmens. Dus weer wat misgelopen. Hopelijk is het donderdagmorgen naar beetje 'vorstig'. Wie weet..

Great shot Josien. It is hard to believe that you are only 18 and taking this good of photographs. I love the light on these clumps of grass. The frost is nice contrast to the warm light, which may soon melt it all way. The tree in the back left corner is very interesting too, great composition.
