...in the eyes of the ticket holder
Nijmegen is a small city in the quiet east of the Netherlands, on the banks of the Waal river. Its main claim to fame is its status as the oldest city of the Netherlands, with its origins going back to Roman times. It is a lively and enjoyable town with several decent bars and restaurants, a great museum and architecturally a typically Dutch combination of old and modern.
My favourite Nijmegenaar is filmmaker Joris Ivens.
Museum Het Valkhof is a fascinating local museum for archeology and art. It is housed in a new and very functional building on the edge of town and includes both Roman artefacts, classic Dutch paintings and contemporary art.
This picture shows the entrance to the temporary exhibition 'Why Goddesses are so beautiful' (Waarom godinnen zo mooi zijn). A small, but interesting excursion through the quest for beauty in ancient times.

a very sensual and sensitive composition that is quite beautiful. Super clarity and subtle colours that entrance and captivate. A stunning visual effect and presentation. Bravo!

Creative shot for art creation. Very good framing enclosing the 3 elements in a global blue tone atmosphere, very romantic. Nice light on the statue also.
