Photographer’s Note

Many people visit Apeldoorn in order to see Het Loo royal palace and its famous baroque gardens. Hardly anyone knows that next and behind this complex ly the royal dominions, a huge estate consisting of hunting grounds, forests and the like. A part of these dominions is formed by the royal park that is concentrated around Het Oude Loo castle. You can visit the park all year round, but the area around the castle is open only a few month a year. The park was designed in a romantic landscape style, with beautiful solitary trees, ponds, pavillions, cascades, follies and views on the palace.
