Aalten is a small dutch city in the province Gelderland. In July and August on every Thursday ,the city has a interesting programme called “Aalten Dagen” (Aalten days) to attract people to visit the city.
On this particular day one of the main attractions was a pantomime show performed by the group “Living Arts” .They come from a local Gym club and are pure amateurs and their show is really great.

Hi Hermann, excellent picture.
perfect focus on the girl, great colors, a mysterious mood everywhere, good light and a strange and unusual subject.

Another from your fine Serie of Living arts. Excelent close-up approach and a very good captured portrait of the artist. Very good colors, light management, atmosphere and sharpness.
Very well done and composed.
Very good work!

I would like to see it vertical. But model's face is excellent

Hallo Hermann. I was hoping to see another photo of the living arts series - nice pose you captured and a good job framing the photo a bit tighter than some of the other ones. The copper and brown tones are quite pleasant overall.

what the hell does she have on her head :-)))
another excellent portrait; i love the close-to-monochromatic tones of the image;
best wishes, jerzy

nice catch hermann. the colros are as usual nice, may a nit centered, but I guess it wan't possible to do otherwise..

I like the shape, colour etc but what I really like is the more deeply human aspect of this picture - I like the revelation of something going on inside her at this moment - the expression is not buoyant or vibrant - it doesn't look so confident, it looks possibly reflective, or an attempt to hold something against some growing tension in her body, or self-consciousness or maybe an expression which is deliberate and part of the act - it has many possibilities and this is the great mystery of the human face - for even when we think we know we can always be wrong - (especially useful to remember as our little ones grow up Daddy!) How many times I might have got it wrong!!
So I like this one especially for bringing us close to another human being and towards some understanding of her experience of this moment in time.
best wishes Kev

YES ! No blue part on the foreground......excellent ! ;)
I like this, with superbs colors tones and these 2 parts on the background...very good.
Details, position of the "model", closed attitude of the face,....BRAVO
You full center is very good for me.
(I come back for the smile)

Hi Hermann, A powerful make up. You have done a good job to capture the details of the living statues with this close up shot. A very well taken picture.
jmdaoudal (82) 2005-09-20 13:19
Ce maquillage et ce personnages font un sujet "craquant", bien pris et d'excellente qualité.
devimeuxbe (58557) 2005-09-20 13:33
Beautifull capture. Elegant, unusual,
Nice colors and light and beautifull expression.
ChrisJ (115529) 2005-09-21 3:46
I like the unusual cracked mud makeup. The coffee monotone / monochromatic color, works well here.
nerve (10231) 2005-09-21 5:04
i love this central composition Hermann,,
nearly monochrome, beautiful colour..
(its sad to see old Nikonist shooting with Canon stuf.. -joking!, ;) but i have to admit, its quite sharp lens..(well, its a L lens anyway..) Take care..
jrj (34843) 2005-09-21 5:42
Ahh.. back to this artist. This one a fine compo, ehere the lifted arms and her hair decoration works well together. Well seen - good job H.

Guten Abend Hermann, a very nice addition to yuur very esthetic Livings Arts serie. The coloyr palet is deliciously and I love the way you captured the expression of the artist. Very well framed too - you really know your stuff, but we knew that. Xcellent job!
Best regards from Rotterdam, Bert.

Another great capture of a living statue. You can clearly see the concentration on her face. Good sharpness and colours, well done.
keribar (43841) 2005-09-24 1:30
This is a very very good one Hermann, monochrome in the brick tones, and wonderful background mixture of black and brick, and very good expression of the model.
