A church in Friesland.

Friesland ( in Frisian Fryslân) is a province in the north of the Netherlands and part of the bigger region know as Frisia ( part in Netherlans, part in Germany). In Friesland, they speak two languages: the Dutch and also the Frisian (West Frisian).

This photo was taken in the area of the lakes of Friesland, around Workum (Warkum in Frisian).

Bonjour Roger ,
On peut resentir le vent frison dans le feuillage des arbres ! Joli contraste avec le vers tendre du premier plan . Le toit de tule est attractif aussi . Je ne sais pas quel est le style architectural de cette église , mais j'en ai vu de semblables en Normandie , par exemple .

Bonsoir Roger,
Le vent devait défriser le jour où tu as pris cette photo, d'après les arbres. La Frise dont tu parles si bien doit être un petit paradis à vivre. C'est une très attrayante image de campagne, avec une composition digne d'un peintre. La réalisation est excellente. Félicitations.

Very nice view of this brick church tower. One can find similar ones also in Poland. Nice big tree in bg and green meadow.

Bonsoir Roger,

Les arbres cadrent bien l'église. La prise de vue permet de voir avec précision les détails et les couleurs du clocher. L'étendue de la pelouse donne de la profondeur à la composition. L'intensité de la lumière ne nuit pas au rendu des couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Workum a very lovely place when in winter the skaters a lot skaten.
Lovely area for a bike trip in the splendid landscape.
Roger, I see the sharpness not perfect perhaps my old eyes or my screen!Perspective and colors are nice, excellent captured and composed.

questo bel verde luminoso contribuisce alla piacevolezza di questa foto che ci mostra questa deliziosa chiesetta di campagna. Apprezzo molto la perfetta nitidezza degli alberi e le varie tonalità di verde che circondano la chiesa e le case. Veramente una bella e rilassante fotografia, bravissimo!

Hi Roger,
Fine sunny view over this old terp with the old church and some farms. A typical view of the north provinces to build the village on a sort of hill (terp)to keep dry feet at flood and storm.

nice framing uniteing the tower and these beautiful fields. I liekd the colors and the softness of this light. the tower made me remember a toy I had when I was a boy, pieces of wood imitating façades and used to create cities.

Bonjour Roger,

Before our recent trip to Friesland, I read Geert Mak's truly excelllent book "Hoe God verdween uit Jorwert" - don't know if it's translated in either French or English. If it is, it is highly recommended.

Anyway, this looks like the church on the cover of that book. And that makes me like the image even more.

The light on the left side of tower is a bit heavy imho, but otherwise this is just perfect. I like the slightly off-beat composition with the tower pushed all the way to the edge of the frame. The full-blown light green third below is another great element here.
