Almere is a planned city, located in a polder of Flevoland, it is the youngest city in the Netherlands: the first house was finished in 1976. The silverline tower contains 58 apartments, just outside of Almere’s town centre. It was built on the edge of the artificial Weerwater lake. The façade is made with aluminum cladding, like a tight skin -hence the name.
The meander form reinforces the logo-like singularity of this building while at the same time catering to market practical demands: there are plenty of takers for the top and bottom levels, far fewer for the middle. The middle has therefore been reduced to a minimum and the top and foot maximized. An equally rigid logic informs the distribution of windows, which is a direct reflection of the rooms they serve. Each window is positioned symmetrically in the central axis of a room. It is a high-rise building type and a deconstructivism architectural style. Source : http://www.mimoa.eu/projects/

I remember this photo. I liked the framing with perfect use of the way and the shapes of this curious building. the image is something dark, but it is nice anyway.

nice the view of the building as outline perfect against the moody sky.The pedestrian adds perspective in the image.

Against the sky, a beautiful, majestic building with great design in simplicity, but with unparalleled engineering construction,

Very unusual looking apartment building but I imagine the view from those windows are amazing. Good pov and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Modern building not the usual style in Holland, Miguel, and maybe I saw it several times on TE before.
Unique shape shown from it's special angel.
Fine clear shot over.

This is a very interesting structure. I like the POV and the composition. Exposure is adequate, the light might cooperate better at a different time of day. TFS.

What a strange building! It may be logically planned and built and architecturally innovative but it looks absolutely ugly to me, lol. Great capture, anyway. Thanks for sharing the unusual in this world:)

Very nice shot. Great exposure, superb colors and lights you captured here. Very well done.

this building is surely captivating and, in spite of the reasoning of its construction, it looks very strange. I don't know if people are attracted to it or love it, for me this is hard to believe. Your composition makes it look even more impressive with the dynamism it has added to it. The tough lighting conditions, the backdrop and the almost monochromatic palette are very moody and interesting, have made the building imposing but haven't made it more appealing (to me I mean). The great depth and sharpness of your picture have helped us understand the building and its surroundings better. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Hi dear Gueguel
Wow so amazing architecture indeed? I wonder the eartquake makes no damaged? So effective light getting. Very well considered framwork with best balance by your own originality as usual.
Thanks for your sharing and have a good day!

The story of Almere is that Amsterdam was too
full (highest number inhabitants was in the
seventies). To offer the people a more
livable environment and create less pressure
in Amsterdam they "invented" Almere( new
problem: now are many files by increase cars).
Composition is good, also the point of view
(diagonal line creates a nice depth), but try
to hold the Sun behind you.

Looks like a number 1. A good architectural shot of the odd shaped building with excellent sharpness and diffused lighting. I like the minimalist color and the shimmering sunlight reflections in the water at left. The fence starting in the bottom left and on an oblique angle adds both perspective and dynamism. Merci!

A beautiful composition and very unique building that I personally do not like, but your image has a good POV, with the view of the bridge, which leads to the construction sight, you had a hard light, but you solved with solvency.
Have a good night.
All the best.

A perfect angle to shoot this building, showing its unusual design off perfectly. I'm not sure if this kind of building is quite my cup of tea, but its a pleasure to learn of it. Well done on handling that very difficult light.
All the best
