Shopping Reflections
This picture has been on the waiting list for a very long time, I doubted about it, but today I decided to post this one, since it is also something completly different in contrast to my other recent uploads.
This picture was taken in Almere in the province of Flevoland, the youngest city in The Netherlands. This is the facade of 'de Zoetelaar', a shopping centre in the heart of the city. Those mirrors you can see here are above the entrance. The reflections in the mirrors caught my eye. The building you can see in the mirror is another part of the shopping centre, if I remember right and the lines are a kind of gate.
Almere is built in the south-west of the Flevopolder. This polder is located in the middle of the country on the place of the former Zuiderzee. After a flood in 1916 it was decided that de Zuiderzee would be closed and reclaimed. This resulted in de Noordoostpolder (Northeast Polder), Oostelijk Flevoland (Eastern Flevoland) and Zuidelijk Flevoland (Southern Flevoland), which together makes up the province Flevoland. The project was completed in 1968.
The oldest part of the city of Almere is Almere Haven (Almere Harbour), that dates from 1976. Nowadays, Almere is one of the fastest growing cities in The Netherlands and will probably enter the top 5 biggest cities very soon. At this time the city has about 175,000 inhabitants.
I hope you like these shopping reflections!

Hi Lars. I'm glad you uploaded it. It's neat how the reflections look more like a sailing ship rather than a building. I think the symmetry is perfect for this type of shot. Nicely done Lars, and thanks for sharing!

Hoi Lars,
A straight compo with strong lines, the splitted reflection is a great detail.
Personaly I would crop out the red brick stones on top.

Hi Lars. Great symmetry in the reflections on either side of the divider. The colours are fascinating, and the whole scene resembles a piece of slightly abstract art. Very pleasing to the eye and I'm glad you saved this to post for us. Regards.

Hi Lars,
I really love the vibration effect of this reflections. It is very nice to look at especially the reflected building which appeared to being sliced and rearranged. Very artistically seen. Well done!! Best regards.

Hi Lars, A well seen and a well captured picture. It looks that you have many good pictures in your reserve. This is a thoughtfully composed picture with a heck of twist brain to figure out what’s at your back. I like it very much because I like puzzles. A nice depth to enable us to see the shop and the reflections on the windows. Well done.

This is a funny one framed with a great care, there are here very good lines and the result is good, I even wonder if the brick is useful according to the quality of the reflections
Compliments

Hi Lars, this is a nice symmetric and linear composition. I like the cut off reflection of the opposite white building. Nice work.

It's a nice shot for a good symmetrical point of view like this. The mirrors do offer an excellent reflection that really plays with the building across from it. It's a nice chopped up look and it goes well with the stronger lines of the outline of the mirrored area and the big bold name. I just think it needs to be skewed a little bit to get the horizontal lines on top straight. And possible there is some barrel distortion. Fixing those I think would make the lines much more bold and clean. But it is still quite a nice graphic shot. Well done spotting it out Lars.

Yes, Lars, I liked these reflections! I think this kind of image has always a great potential, and that happened here once again. I also like the inclusion of the upper red brick part, so this is for me a good composition!

De Zoetelaar? Aparte naam, ik zat meer aan een snoepwinkel te denken, maar ja, ik denk ook altijd aan snoep;)
Leuke reflectie hier, vooral omdat het uit verschillende lagen bestaat. Mooie lijnen verder.

Hej Lars,
I'm back to your reflection experiments. It's interesting the way you used the strong lines of the façade and the symetry, to frame the reflected artistic image, causing a strange contrast betteween them. I like to see the overall composition, but I'm curious about a closer approach of the reflection. I specially like the way there are lines of the gate everywhere, in diferent directions. Very interesting work in here!

Very nice reflections with a special effect due to the different glass panels. I like it much better than the framing around.
All the best,
Emmanuel
