Photographer's Note

St. Luke's Church (Crkva Sv Luke) in the eponymous square (Trg Sv Luke) and the city fortifications above on a moonlit evening: Kotor, Montenegro.

Although not the main square, with the cathedral, this is nevertheless probably the most-photographed square in Kotor. We were there in October, when the cruise ships were not in port, and the town was mercifully Grockle-free as you can see. Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This old Mediterranean port is surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period. It is located on the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Together with the nearly overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovćen, Kotor and its surrounding area form an impressive and picturesque Mediterranean landscape.
